The Devon School of English is a long-established family business (founded in 1972) with a reputation for excellence and focussed language training. We have put together a range of English training options for people working in the mining sector, available on demand and on an individual basis.

The historic mining landscape of West Devon and Cornwall was recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2006. For a time, the region was the world’s leading producer of tin and copper and provided most of the raw materials for the early stages of the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain and Europe.

The mining tradition continues today with international mining companies extracting or looking for tin, tungsten, and various clays. The internationally famous Camborne School of Mines is located 140 km to the west of the Devon School and visits can be arranged on request.
