Our V.I.P. One-to-One courses are the most client-centred, intensive and effective language courses we offer. We will send you a needs analysis document for you to complete in advance of your course. This will ensure that we are able to tailor the content to your specific requirements and select the teacher with the most appropriate expertise and experience.

Our teachers are chosen for their ability to base their input on both teaching skill and practical experience of business. We believe that the ability to truly understand a client’s business is crucial to meaningful language provision.

Courses may be based on the need to acquire a higher level of competency in English, focussing on functional business language. The objective here is for clients to leave the school confident in their language ability and better able to express themselves in the business situations they regularly encounter. These situations might include meetings with international clients, international negotiations, giving presentations in English or making and receiving telephone calls in English.

Alternatively, courses may be centred on vocation-specific language, for example Human Resources, Management Accounts, Sales and Marketing or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Objectives might include interviewing candidates for jobs in English, presenting financial data to foreign directors, making sales presentations in English or providing international technical service and support.

We also organise courses for clients with very specific objectives, for example organising and facilitating a conference in English, conducting an Assessment Centre in English or preparing and rehearsing a specific presentation in English.

What will I learn?

The emphasis during lessons is on increasing fluency, accuracy and confidence when speaking and on improving and developing your listening skills. You will acquire the vocabulary, expressions and strategies needed to cope effectively in the most important everyday situations. At higher levels, taking part in discussions and debates will enable you to more fully understand British culture and society. Reading skills are developed using a wide range of authentic texts. The writing syllabus, based on classroom activities, provides the basis for homework and important consolidation.

You can check your current level by taking our FREE ONLINE ENTRANCE TEST.

When do the courses start?

Courses start on any Monday throughout the year. Go to the BOOK A COURSE NOW to see more details.

How do I get to the school?

Getting to Paignton is easy with fast and frequent coach and train services from London airports. We offer a complete travel advisory service that will help you organize your journey. We can book your bus or train tickets, provide timetables or arrange to have representative meet you on arrival at the airport. For a full list of transfer options see the click here or download the GETTING TO US PDF MATERIAL.

All students will be met by a member of their homestay hosts or a member of staff when they arrive in Paignton.

Please note: If you are under 18 booking on a General English 15 hour course, you will be at school and supervised Monday to Friday from 09:00 until 12:30. If you are booking on a English 23 hour course you will be in school from 09:00 until 15:30 Monday to Thursday, finishing on Friday at 12:30. Outside of these periods, and during the 30 minute morning coffee break and 60 minute lunch break, you will not be supervised and will have free time in the afternoons after lessons, in the evenings and at weekends.

We do provide information and support for the students on staying safe in their free time, and a wide range of afternoon and evening activities and day trips at weekend are organized by the school – students need to book and pay for these individually. There are full day excursions organized at the weekends, and students can book and pay for these during the week. It is also possible by arrangement for you to join some of the activities of our teenager school which runs in parallel (again on a pay-as-you-go basis).

Please Note:

The school will be closed on the following days in 2018 for public holidays:
